Building

We buried our own written prayers and a cross made of rocks under the first layer of cement.  This is being built on the Rock!
The first cement poured came out in the shape of a heart and we thought this was a great symbol of God's love for these people.
We waited until after midnight to be there for the delivery of the re-bar so it would be ready for work the next day.
My friend gets right in there to make sure that the material we purchase are correct.
I had my turn at watering the foundation. We watered it morning and evening for over a week.  You can see the re-bar columns ready and waiting.
The workers are putting up the forms around the re-bar walls of the basement and the elevator shaft in the middle.

Our new house

We were forced to move when our landlord suddenly raised the rent.  We love our new house with a terrace on three sides where we can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It is a bit smaller and more affordable and has beautiful windows everywhere.  We are so thankful the Lord has brought us here.
Here is our view of the sea from the upper balconies. We walk to go swimming several times a week.

Prayer warriors

My friend and I had the privilege of visiting this wonderful couple in their home. Doris, who is legally blind, uses a flashlight to see the faces of the people in our letters.  She is so eager to pray.

Thank you!

So thankful to have this family as my friends and encouragers!  God bless you guys.

Well, they don't have fitting rooms in Costco, so...

I had to try on these men's shorts we were purchasing as a present.  Yes, everyone stared.  But who cares.  You can do things like this in America.  It's a free country.  And people can stare at you and laugh at you.  Because it's a free country.

Smoothies

We got to have smoothies with my mom and sister on our first day out running errands and shopping.  I am so thankful for all the time we spent together and for all their help with driving and running our table and taking care of the details.

Everybody loves waffles!

The dutch waffles I brought my sister as a present were a bit hit!  Now I know what to bring back by the case next time :)

Stayton

I am so glad that I was able to take my Gramma along with me to visit this ladies group.  The made us a wonderful lunch and dessert and we enjoyed getting to chat with them.
